Peter Knott, holder of the Chair of Radar Systems Engineering, supervise doctoral theses as directors of the Fraunhofer FHR at the intersection of science and applied research—thereby offering you a balanced environment that combines the best of both worlds. 

Partnership with Ruhr University Bochum

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Ruhr University Bochum offers three options for academic supervision: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dirk Nüßler, Chair of Integrated High-Frequency Sensors and Research Director at Fraunhofer FHR; Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Brüggenwirth, Chair of Cognitive Systems; and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Outstanding master’s graduates from Koblenz University of Applied Sciences can pursue a doctorate through a partnership agreement with the University of Siegen—supervised by one professor from each institution.

Collaboration with ZESS – Radar & HF Sensor Technology

Prof. Dr. Daniel O'Hagan—Chief Scientist and Head of the Chief Scientist Office (CSO) in the Multifunctional RF and Radar Systems (MFR) division—leads the FHR research group at the Center for Sensor Systems (ZESS) at the University of Siegen.
