The new Fraunhofer FHR

News /

With three thematically focused areas aligned with the main application fields, a Project Management Office, and customized structures in administration, the institute has set the course for continued success in the future.

The Fraunhofer FHR has restructured itself: from now on, the unique European competencies in radar and high-frequency technologies will be bundled into the three main application fields to provide research and development services that are even more tailored to the needs of its customers and partners:

  • Multifunctional radio-frequency and radar systems (MFR)
  • Radar for space situational awareness (RWL)
  • Industrial high-frequency systems (IHS)

In this way, Fraunhofer FHR is strengthening its position in a rapidly changing market environment with roadmaps that are flexibly adapted to customer needs, ranging from customized individual sensor technology to complex large-scale projects, and from systems and subsystems to feasibility studies, simulations, prototype construction, and small-scale production.

In addition, a Project Management Office (PMO) has been introduced to efficiently and qualitatively manage large-scale projects. The organizational processing of projects has also been optimized through a process-oriented restructuring of our administration (VW).

The implementation of Fraunhofer FHR's projects remains unaffected by this, and processing will continue as usual. The familiar contacts will remain the same and will be available to answer questions about the restructuring. Further information can be found under the Sections tab on the website.
